Itinerary:
This hike will be located around Clopper Lake, which is located about 20 miles northwest of D.C. between Gaithersburg and Germantown in the Seneca Creek State Park. We will meet at the park office off Clopper Road at 10:15 am. From there, we will travel down the Great Seneca Trail, which follows for the most part alongside Great Seneca Creek to Clopper Lake. Once at the 90-acre lake, we will hike a loop around it called the Lake Shore Trail. Once a complete circuit is made, we will return to the visitor center back through the Great Seneca Trail.

The total hike length will be 6.1 miles over modestly hilly terrain with 550 feet of elevation change. The trail is blazed, but one section has many tree roots.

Depending on how people feel, we will have an optional lunch after the hike but please bring snacks and water to hold you through the hike.

There will be a carpool location at the Columbia EXPO Design Center. We will leave there at 9:00am.
