Itinerary:
Please join the MOC for a 15.5 mi. shuttle hike in Great North Mountain, George Washington National Forest, Lee Ranger District. We will make the ascent up to three beautiful overlooks - Half Moon, Big Schloss and Tibbot Knob. In addition, there will be nice views of the valley scattered throughout the hike.

It is important to note that since this is a shuttle hike, for non-drivers there will be a wait of approximately an hour at the end of the hike so that the drivers can retrieve and bring back their cars.

In addition, there is a 820 foot steep ascent and a couple of rock scrambles in the last mile of this hike.

We will be utilizing the Bucktail Cutoff, Half Moon, Tuscarora, Mill Mountain and Tibbet Knob trails to complete this hike. In addition, we'll be passing through the Wolf Gap Recreation Area.

Total elevation gain for this hike is appx. 3000 feet. It is rather rocky in areas, but scrambling is limited to a few brief sections towards the end.
