The tourists have gone home, so let's check out the monuments you haven't seen since your last grade-school field trip. From the Smithsonian Metro station, we'll stroll to the Tidal Basin and take in the Jefferson Monument. From there we'll proceed at a leisurely pace to the Viet Nam, Lincoln, FDR and Korean War Memorials. We'll leave extra time at the World War II Memorial, since it's brand-new. The tour will also include a surprise lesser-known monument as a bonus.

Required Items to Bring:
- Waterbr - Munchiesbr - Comfy walking shoesbr - Money for Metro fare and/or souvenirs

How to Get There:
Event Directions:Parking in this area is scarce and expensive, so Metro is the easiest way to go. brbr Take Metro's Blue or Orange Line to the Smithsonian station, and use the exit for "The Mall". brbr From Baltimore: Take I-95 South to DC, then veer left (toward College Park)when it splits with I-495. The Greenbelt Metro has its own exit, which you follow to the Park & Ride section (NOT the metered spaces) then the Green Line to L'Enfant Plaza. Transfer to the Blue or Orange line on the upper level. Use "The Mall" Exit at the Smithsonian station.

Parking at Metro is free on weekends, so the SmartTrip card isn't required.
