Itinerary:

Come join us as we explore the North Tract of the Patuxent Wildlife Research Refuge by bicycle.

This little-known gem used to be part of Fort Meade and was used for military training before being turned over the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service in the early 1990s.  It is now being actively managed as a wildlife refuge. We will make some stops along the way to take in the surroundings--it’s a wildlife refuge after all.

The ride will be about 18 miles on dirt, gravel, and paved roads.  There are some moderate hills.  Bikes should be equipped with tires suitable for riding on gravel.  Helmets are mandatory.

There will be an optional late lunch/early dinner at a local eating establishment after the ride.

Required Items to Bring:
- Bike in good working condition - Helmet - Water/sport drink - Patch kit/spare tube
