This note is here so that you can make an informed decision. When a Trip Leader isn't personally familiar with a trip, then there is an increased chance of things not going as planned, and as such, you need to be prepared for such. The Trip Leader may have additional details in the itinerary.
Itinerary:

Have you ever wanted to try Geocaching? Need more practice?  Here's your opportunity to learn in a group environment, so you don't have to go treking into the woods all alone.

I have been participating in the sport since 2008, and while I'm no expert, I can show you the ropes.  No GPS needed, but if you have one, please bring it.  And, you can leave at any time if this is not for you.  Though, I hope you will love it and want to stay for the entire duration.

Sign up for a free account at Geocaching.com PRIOR to the event.  Here are a selection of the caches in this area, that we can try to find:

Should this event be very popular, I will ask if other friends of mine that are into the sport to join us and we can break up into smaller groups.

Required Items to Bring:

Snacks, packed lunch, water.  Wear long pants and long sleeves to prevent ticks, and bring along bug spray.

Recommended Items to Bring:
Use our Event Checklists to make sure you have everything you need.

GPS device, or a smart phone with built-in GPS, compass, and the Geocaching.com app ($9.99), and backup battery supply for your smart phone.
