Itinerary:
Are you new to hiking?  Don't know what gear to bring, what to expect?  Want to learn about leave no trace and other important hiking lessons?

Come join the MOC for our Intro to Hiking event.  This is a newbie friendly hike.  We will go over the basics of hiking:

Understanding Trail Blazes
Leave No Trace
Trail Etiquette
Gear
Other Resources

This is an easy 4 mile hike through a wooded area by a stream.  You can do this hike in sneakers, or you can wear boots/hiking shoes.  There are a few small hills, but nothing major. The hike takes approximately 1.5 hours depending on the group pace.   We will be moving at a leisurely/social pace.

Your dogs are welcome on this hike.

Afterwards, for those interested, we can grab beers next door at the Gunpowder Lodge.

** Please email the event coordinator if you would like to receive the Power Point slides before the event. I have 5 slides explaining what we will go over before our hike, including a more detailed gear list.
