Itinerary:
This is a strenuous hike with an elevation gain of more than 2000 ft in 2.5 miles. It involves rock scrambles, including lifting oneself though narrow rock chutes and walking on ledges with substantial drop-off and no safety features. From the summit, it's a moderate 5+ mile hike back on fire roads.

We'll eat lunch at the peak. Afterward there will be a local late afternoon dinner/social hour stop at the Griffin in Flint Hill.

Be prepared for sudden weather changes and temperature drops on the mountain.

If you bring hiking poles, they should be inside your pack or strapped to your pack for the climb otherwise they just get in the way.

Mid-Atlantic Hikes has a feature to make a Google driving map to the park's parking lot

Here's another site that describes the hike in detail.
