I am leading the project for Greater Baltimore Canoe Club (GBCC) with Ranger Jennifer Cashell from the park. Last week we installed a Gabion Stone-lined trench along the trail. This week we will work on installing up to five water bars on the trail to divert water into the trench. The work will involve building a water bar (Ranger Cashell is a trails specialist and will guide the work). I expect some digging, raking, moving timbers, driving in metal stakes to secure timbers, backfilling, filling rock and gravel, and likely some raking if we are lucky enough to get that far. The work site is about 200 yards from the lot. The Ranger will have a machine to do most of the heavy lifting, but a lot of the final placement of timbers and rock needs to be done by hand. The park provides gloves and just about all the tools we need (but not a cordless drill, useful for drilling timbers so they can be pinned down).

GBCC will provide refreshment.

I would be happy to collaborate on car-pool arrangements, although it is probably only a half hour drive from Savage Mills, as a reference point.
