Itinerary:
On Friday, we will meet at the Vienna Metro and carpool to the trail head. From the trail head we will either hike one mile up the ridge and camp on the ridge in a wooded forest or we will continue another mile to the Maupin Field Shelter where there is ample room for us to set up our tents. The next day we will climb the AT and up over several ridges with amazing views. As we descend the AT we will come upon the Harpers Creek Shelter taking a right onto the Maur-Har trail continuing for another few miles to campsite number 2. Milage on Day 2 will be between 7 and 8 miles. On Sunday, we will hike out the last 4 or 5 miles along a beautiful stream passing our campsite from the first night and up the ridge to our cars.
