Itinerary:
This hike has it all - a large waterfall, hiking, rock scrambling, and swimming!

Join us for a 3.5-mile hike (plus 1 additional for the hike to the Waterfall) and small rock scramble in Rocks State Park.
This hike is an easy hike if you do not do the optional short scramble up to the King and Queen's seat. However, the beginning of the trail is an extremely steep and rocky approach where during the first 900 feet of the trail you will gain 200 feet elevation.

After we hike the 3.5-mile loop, we will drive to the beginning of the Kilgore Falls trail head where we will regroup. We will have our lunch at Kilgore Falls where you can cool off from the hike with a swim or just relax and enjoy the scenery.

Rocks has 855 acres of dense forests and massive boulders rising above Deer Creek. The King and Queen Seat, once a ceremonial gathering place of the Susquehannock Indians, is a natural 190-foot rock outcrop. This cliff, reached by scenic trails, affords a view of the rolling hills and farmland of Harford County.

More information about the park can be found here.

There is no official carpool for this event, but all attendees are highly encouraged to contact their fellow members to arrange their own carpool(s). Please note there is a parking fee of $2 for state residents.
