Itinerary:
City of Frederick Municipal Forest, it sounds so....administrative. Maybe they should change the name to "SoCat" or "SoCun" to attract more people (though not really)-- but you know you've never been here. So why not come out Sunday morning for an enjoyable 11 mile stretcher and enjoy some mountain and get a break from the heat, while just a short drive away. While this hike is long in distance, the grades are relatively mild--so don't be discouraged by the length. The forest's main purpose is the protect the water supply for the City of Frederick. It's located on Catoctin Mountain south of Catoctin Mountain Park and Cunningham Falls State Park.

I will set up a central MD carpool if enough people request one.

See the Mr. Hyker's recon here.
