|Join us for a repeat camping trip to Natural Bridge, VA to camp on a great group site in the TJNF.|
We will hike the Devil's Marble Yard on Saturday. Enjoy this 8.3-mile circuit hike that includes a 1-mile boulder scramble up to a scenic summit. This is one of the most fun rock scrambles that MOC has done in recent times. Afterward we will return to the campground to relax, enjoy a meal, and fun times by the large fire pit.
On Sunday there will be an optional hike on the Apple Orchard Falls trail - this short hike follows a creek with a few nice waterfalls along the way. There is a 200-foot-high waterfall along this route. If you choose to skip the hike, there will likely be a group going to a local winery instead.
The campsite is a rustic site, with no running water and a vault toilet so you will need to bring your own water for the weekend. There are nearby showers, about a 5 minute drive to the main campgrounds if you do want to shower or need to refill your water.
We are not going to provide food, as it is a large group and would be hard to fit that much food in 2 cars, so you will be responsible for your own food for the weekend. We will have 2 camp stoves, and other MOC cooking supplies, but I would suggest you bring your own as well. You can always cook directly on the fire as well.
The ride is about 4.5 hours from the Baltimore area to the campsite.
If you have any questions or want more information about the trip, feel free to email us.
Details about the campsite can be found here. Details about the hike can be found here.
