Itinerary:
Have you ever thought about biking the entire length of the Chesapeake and Ohio Canal? This weekend bike-camping trip is intended as a training event for those so interested. It's also a great way to spend a weekend biking and camping on the canal for those who just want to do something a little different that the average bike trip.

We'll start off at Antietam Creek campground on the canal near the town of Antietam on Friday night. We'll then bike about 25 miles to a smaller campground on the canal near Williamsport. (Depending on the interest and skill level of those who sign up, we also could go farther.) We'll then travel back on Sunday. It's a nice way to get 50 miles under you're belt for the weekend.

Please note that this event is not for the average biker. In addition to having appropriate gear, such as panniers for carrying your equipment and food and extra tubes for your bike, you should be fit and experienced enough for long distances on your bike. It is HIGHLY recommended that you check out the C&O Canal section of bikewashington.org, a very good biking website that has tons of info about the towpath and recommendations on gear and other info.
