Come join us for our second annual moderate to difficult hike at Sky Meadows State Park followed by a visit to a local winery. The hike will be a 7.9 mile loop with ~2100 feet of elevation change. The hike will offer some scenic views of the area including a spot called the Piedmont Overlook.

This hike is rated Moderate to Difficult even though the terrain is not that steep due to the fact we will be hiking at a decent clip.

Sky Meadows was created on land donated to the state by philanthropist and local resident Paul Mellon who had saved it from a planned upscale subdivision. The core area was farmland for three centuries and the history of it is stored in Mount Bleak, the main building on the site. In fact, cows still roam parts of the park.

After the hike we will stop at a relatively new local winery (Oak Barrel) to do some tasting.
