Write Up:
What a fabulous night! We started by having two halves of the group meet up at carpools in Columbia and Timonium. We drove up to New Park, PA to the Maize Quest Fun Park for sundown. At 6:03 the sun set and we divided ourselves into 3 teams. Once the teams were divided we headed into the barn to pick up our crayons, pencils, scavenger hunt packet and safety flag. We then watched a short video about how the scavenger hunt works and some of the rules of the corn maze.

The goal...first time out with the scavenger hunt complete! After 2 hours of searching, Team Pumpkin came out of the maze to victory. About 20 minutes later Team 1 emerged from the corn. Then approximately 10 minutes later Team 2 came out. All teams made it out alive and without assistance of the park personnel so everyone is a winner in my book! Team 2 had to help out a group of young girls whose leader walked off with the flashlight and map packet. Thank you Team 2 for being good Samaritans and lending a helping hand. While folks waited outside the maize maze we enjoyed some hot cocoa from the refreshment stand.

After everyone was accounted for and pictures were taken, the group headed back to Timonium to get some food and refreshments from Padonia Station. All 26 of us got to sit together in a huge table in a private room. Even though the group only had one server, she did a great job at serving all of us.

Thank you everyone for having such high energy and sense of adventure. And, thank you to Tracey for heading up the Timonium carpool crew. I had a great time and it was definitely worth the drive! We should do this again next Fall!
