Write Up:
We stood shivering at the carpool waiting. The directions were a little confusing, but everyone eventually got there. We made our way to the hike. We got close to the park, but this leader missed his turn. We needed to stop for a rest stop anyway. The carpoolers arrived at the park a little late, but we got there. We immediately headed north up the shore of the river to the dam. The river was more of an ice flow around many little rocky islands. We got to the dam and had lunch. A lone photographer was braving the cold to get some shots of the local bald eagles. He pointed out one of the eagles roosting in the trees, and watching over the activity below. We headed south again along the shore. About half way back to the starting point, we split off to the west for a trail that takes us through forest and hay fields. We continued south of the cars and looped back along the ridge over looking the river, and were treated to some nice views of the river and east river shore. After the hike we made our way to Coakley's Pub in Harve de Grace, MD. Good food, good price, good talk.
