Thu, Oct 26 2006 - An Evening at Center Stage (View Original Event Details)|
|Participants:||Matt Toerper, Sara Vieweg, Doug Coyner, Amanda Richardson, Ian Preuss|
Seven MOC members braved some rough downtown
traffic to meet at Center Stage. We arrived just in the nick
of time to qualify for a special 50% discount on our ticket
prices. As a result, we were able to snag some of the best
seats in the house at a very affordable price.
After buying our tickets, we took the elevator to the sixth
floor for a very cool pre-show happy hour. We savored the
complimentary hors d'oeuvres, sampled a bit of wine, and
enjoyed some lively conversation.
The main event, the political drama Death and The Maiden,
began at 8:00pm. Without giving away the
plot, I will say it was a riveting and thought-provoking
performance, and the ending
kept some of us guessing. It also contained some
compelling and relevant themes about revenge, justice, and the deep
wounds that exist when a society condones and/or turns a
blind eye to torture and inhumanity. After the conclusion,
we gave a lengthy and well-deserved applause. Bravo!
