Write Up:
This was an overnight backpacking trip in the Great North Mountain region of the George Washington National Forest. The weather was chilly, sunny, and blue skies for the whole trip. On the first day we climbed up to the ridge from Wolf Gap and hiked 9 miles to Halfmoon Mountain. We setup camp and then went up to the lookout for dinner, sunset, and a bond fire. The next day we made our way down the Little Stoney Creek Trail then up the Big Schloss Cutoff Trail to Big Schloss. We then hiked back to the car for a total of 12 miles on day two. A burger at the local burger joint ended the day.
