Write Up:
The 4th Annual Holiday Party & Ball was definitely an affair to remember! It was our final time to party with one another before 2006 arrives, and boy did we party!!!

At the event, the MOC wrapped up its third year of existence, with a full-scale, banquet-style dinner at the Key West Restaurant & Banquet Facility in Hanover, MD. The Key West Restaurant is attached to the Ramada Inn, accessible off of Rt. 100 and Coca-Cola Drive. About 1/3rd of the attendees stayed the night in the adjoining hotel.

At 7 PM, a few early arrivals met up for some light fare and mingling in a hotel room, ahead of going downstairs for the main party at 8. Just before 8, a couple of volunteers headed downstairs to light all the candles that were placed on the tables during an earlier setup. Each table was adorned with a red and green poinsettia, a holiday-trimmed, take-home candy bag, name cards (to introduce yourself to others) at unassigned seats, tea light candles, and Battle of the Sexes trivia cards to serve as talking points for those unfamiliar with others at the tables. Yes, each and every last detail was considered for this party!

A majority of the attendees showed up between 8 and 8:30 at Key West and found themselves greeted at the Check In Table, a 2005 year-in-review photo display (thanks to Glenn Peddicord), a cheese & cracker appetizer, and drinks from the bar or near the buffet area. Soon, the buffet was open, and the feast began!

The dinner menu included: beef lasagna, rotisserie chicken, green beans amandine, roasted rosemary potatoes, mozzarella and roma tomato salad. It was topped off by delicious homemade apple pie.

In the main banquet room, a wonderful assortment of music for all tastes was mixed at the DJ stand by our very own member, Young Kim. Young volunteered his time 100% in picking up the gear, setting it up, and spending all evening spinning tunes for our event. A HUGE THANK YOU for his job well done!

In the corner of the room awaited a donation area for our 2005 charities: Adopted Families via the Salvation Army, Chesapeake Bay Foundation, and the ASPCA. In total, we raised $30 for the ASPCA, $215 for CBF, and approximately $650 in monetary and gift donations for our two adopted families.
