Write Up:
Great turn out for this Saturday trek in the woods - nearly 20 people, 2 dogs, and temperature in the 60 degree range! We took our time completing this moderate 5.2 mile loop hike at Gunpowder Falls State Park, known as the Wildlands Loop. The hike followed the upland forests of the fall zone, with a few stream crossings, and walked alongside Big Gunpowder Falls as it meanders downstream and leaves the piedmont.

Big Gunpowder Falls is more a stream than what most would consider "falls," that slides through several narrow gorges, and only 5 miles downstream spreads into a delta-like, broad river more than a mile wide.

In addition to the loop, we also took the side trail to Long Green Creek and hung out for 20 minutes or so taking in the sun's rays and letting the dogs play in the stream.

Afterward, a majority of us went to Double T Diner on Route 1. Remind us not to deal with that same cashier again - what a tool!
