Write Up:
What started off with a little rain turned out to be a beautiful Sunday afternoon of hiking. White Oak Canyon is a club favorite and it was my first time on the trail. It starts off with a fairly steep climb, and there are some amazing views of waterfalls and the flowing river. The water levels were quite high and the falls were spectacular by Shenandoah standards, with all the rain we had the night before. We ate lunch near the top, then headed around the ridge and down a fairly steep and rocky trail. After the 9-mile hike we all went into a small town (who’s name now eludes me) and ate a healthy meal at a local Irish pub!
