Write Up:
Well, they say the third time is a charm, and this time it certainly was for this hike that was weathered out two previous times. We were a little disheartened as it drizzled a bit on the way there (some contingency plans were being made for ice cream in lieu of hiking), but once we all arrived at the parking lot, the weather had cleared up to stay.

The group first set out on the lower trail towards Cunningham Falls, which were only about 1/2 mile from the parking lot. We stopped briefly before starting our climb towards Cat Rock. We made our way through many spider webs (but not without several shrieks from the leader, and many pleas to those behind her to take the front). After a couple of hours, a couple of breaks, and only a few times looking at the map (just for curiosity's sake, of course), we all made it to Cat Rock. Some of the hikers braved the summit for the lunchtime views, while the others decided to stay in the shade to enjoy their meals. After a nice, relaxing lunch, we started the descent back to the cars. The trail that took us down to the road was named "Old Misery" for its incline, likely for the those climbing it in the other direction. For us, we just had to manage the misery of the rocks.

All in all, it was a good hike. As one hiker said, he was in pain, so it must have been good. Thanks to everyone for coming, and thanks to Keith for taking on the duties of sweeping!
