Write Up:
I would like thank everybody who came out for the hike. It was a good group and we had fun. The footing was a little slick because of the recent snow. Shana was looking forward to the pleasure of seeing somebody slip and fall down. We slipped and slid, but didn't have any major tumbles.

We followed Difficult Run to the Potomac River. Then, we hiked all the trails in the park. When were waiting for the group to get together at a turn on the Swamp Trail Connector, we had a new person show up. Herb tracked us down but it was easy since we were making a lot of noise walking on the crunchy snow. Everybody enjoyed looking at Great Falls. While we were at the overlook, some kayakers hopped into the river. It was great to watch them battle the currents. Near the overlook is the high water marker depicting water levels during notable floods. The most recent was 1996. While taking a break along Mather Gorge on the way back to the parking lot, we saw some geese. They landed in the middle of the rapids and drifted with the current. It looked like fun and we were envious.
