Write Up:
The beginning of the hike was a little bit yucky. It was drizzling, damp, and chilly, but that didn't deter us. We had to bend a rule by going on a trail for a short distance that was closed because of tree clean up from the recent storms. I wasn't sure why they had it marked off because there wasn't anything in the way. The sun started to come out a little bit so the views weren't too bad. The fog added mystique to the scenery. Once we got moving, I was tough and wore a t-shirt and shorts.

We did a loop around Sugarloaf Mountain. Jared made Helen carry around his very heavy water bottle in her backpack. After he finished drinking all the water, he was man enough to carry it the rest of the hike. Near the end of the hike, we went to the top and relaxed for a little bit. I warned everybody about snakes but I guess they weren't out since nobody died. Everybody was friendly and had a good time. There was lots of talking and hopefully some friendships were born. Afterwards, we ate at Bassett's Restaurant in Poolesville, Maryland. Once again, thanks for the recommendation, Shelley. Great food.
