Write Up:
This day of tubing on the Potomac River began with perhaps the world's smallest carpool (well, of course two people would be the smallest, but it was close to that). Thankfully, with all the people who came to the outfitter directly, we were lucky in that everyone managed to find each other successfully-even if the folks at Butt's Tubes were more than a bit in a hurry to get us all out to the put-in spot as quickly as possible. Several people had to come in a second bus, but everyone waited and we all got into the water together. The weather and the water were warm, and as usual at this time of the year, it was so shallow for most of the way that we practically could have walked most of the way (but how much fun would that have been?). Everyone glided down safely and contentedly. After we got back to the outfitter, most of the group headed into Harpers Ferry to get something to eat, parking first at the visitors center and then taking the bus into town. On Ted's recommendation, we all headed to the Armory Pub, a small spot on the main street where we enjoyed good food and good beer. Afterward, we all enjoyed some frozen custard and ice cream before heading back to out cars. All in all it was a good time, and thanks to everyone who came out!
