Write Up:
I would like to thank everybody who came out. What a great day for a hike. It was partly sunny, the temperature was about 75 degrees. We saw lots of interesting things. Flowers were blooming, leaves were out, kayakers were fighting the Potomac River, people were fishing along the bank, dogs were retrieving sticks from the C&O Canal, and insects were flying everywhere.

Ironically, I told the group, I don't like introduction circles because I forget everybody's name. Yet, I was introducing myself to everybody and saying that while we were in a circle. We ran across a hurdle not very far into the hike, on Billy Goat Trail Part C. A family of geese was eating the fresh green vegetation and we stopped for them. The kids were so cute with all the fuzz still on them. Luckily, they hadn't been conditioned to humans and their parents escorted the youngsters down the slope, toward the river. Unfortunately Chris didn't see a blaze and we ended up facing a very tall rock. Oops, dead-end. We didn't have to go too far back and I was lucky nobody physically attacked me while I returned to the lead position. What a nice bunch of people. Joe saw a snake and pointed it out. Of course, since we are fearless and wise, we gathered around the place he was pointing. We didn't stop and ponder if it was poisonous.
