Write Up:I would like to thank everybody who was able to come out. It
was a beautiful day for a hike. It was sunny and warm, with
hardly a cloud in the sky. There were lots of people at G.
Richard Thompson WMA enjoying the weather, as they were
camping, hiking, fishing, and bird watching. There were all
kinds of flowers blooming and some insects were flying
around. Spring definitely has arrived!
During our descent, we had to traverse around a fallen tree. It
was a little bit muddy and Laura slipped. Jared, determined to
extinguish the foolish notion of chivalry, used Laura as a
footbridge. But this is speculation and rumor, which I can
neither confirm nor deny. We posed for some photos next to a
picturesque stream. We had to do a triple jump to bypass this
hazard safely. Luckily, we survived and made it back to the
parking lot.
The ever-considerate Jared decided that we would eat at
Damon's Grill in Manassas. Determined to erase his earlier
faux pas, he held the door open for everybody. We played a
video question game while waiting for our food. We
managed not to embarrass ourselves too much. It was a nice
atmosphere and the food was ok.
