Write Up:
We gathered in the Latin Jazz Alley for the official MOC salsa dance class. Miguel, our instructor, was patient as he taught us the most basic steps, with the girls lined up in a row opposite the boys. It was fortunate we had about an even number of each.

We were a little embarrassed at first as we danced together and stepped on each other's toes. Before long, however, we began to salsa and shake our hips. Miguel introduced us to a few simple turns that seemed like rocket science at first. With practice, we began to pick up the contorted steps. After learning the basics, Miguel concluded the class by inviting us back for free dancing after our dinner.

We walked down to Habana Village for a nice Cuban dinner of black beans and rice. Amy, Adam, and Ralph joined us there.

Following dinner we walked back to the Latin Jazz Alley for a warm welcome from our new friends there. We danced the night away with our new steps. With one exception (Vincent), the ladies were much more pronounced on the dance floor than the gents. Carrie, Sandra, Christine, Shana, and I spent much time out there dancing till our feet got sore.

Most of us then parted ways to take the Metro home around midnight. I think we successfully completed this mission, and showed the world how the MOC salsa dancers can rise to a challenge, and do more than just hiking! Thanks to all for an incredibly fun evening.
