Write Up:
All the praying the organizer did to the Weather Gods paid off--as we had a beautiful 60-degree sunny day with a light breeze. This type of day doesn't come often and MOCers responded in full force--all signed up on the final event list were ready to go at the planned start time. Plus we had two lovely dogs (Shadow and Emma) to accompany us.

The hike's fun started immediately with a 600-foot climb up South Mountain. Layers came flying off and fortunately nobody threw up their breakfast. Speaking of breakfast, the organizer hopes those who dined on the cinnamon buns enjoyed them.

After the climb, we made great time advancing on the flat, rocky ridge and arrived at Black Rock Cliffs promptly around Noon. There was plenty of time to enjoy the westward view of the Washington County Countryside (minus I-70). A bunch of Boy Scouts joined us and it was pretty weird that only one was in uniform (and that was an adult). Also, there was a guy shooting photographs of the farm he grew up in nearby Boonsboro.

After the relaxing lunch we turned around and went back North to Wolfsville Rd. The rocks were getting a bit tougher to walk over and a steep downhill to the cars was tough, but we made it.

Hope everyone had a good time!
