Write Up:
We had a beautiful day for hiking, ideal weather, 60ish and sunny. We began at the Dickey Ridge trail head, about a half mile before the northern park entrance to SNP and walked into the park. The hike was an out and back with a short loop at the end around the Snead Farm. The first part of the hike was a steady but low grade incline. We stopped for a quick break at the Visitor at about mile 4. We continued up Dickey Ridge until the Snead Farm turn off at about mile 6. From this point the rest of the hike was down hill. We lunched in the ruins of the house at the farm. On the return, we looped around Fox Meadow trail across from the Visitor Center after another short pit stop and then continued north again on Dickey Ridge. It was a long hike and everyone was tired by the time we got back to the cars at the trail head.
