Write Up:
What a long event! It was dark when we started and dark when we finished. But there were a lot of smiles and miles too!

The hike certainly was a challenging one. There was some steep elevation gain, lots of rocks, and the disgusting sight of deer blood over the snow. We also somehow managed to take a wrong turn, which added .02 miles to the hike--so we can say we did 13 miles total. In addition, a couple of participants' knees didn't feel good, a few of us lost some items (but eventually found them!), and one member couldn't find the group. But we all finished the hike and eventually got together for a great dinner at Brewer's Alley in Frederick.

When the Baltimore/DC area was getting rain during the week they must have gotten snow out west, because the trail was covered with snow! It wasn't deep, however, and actually served as a cushion on the rocks. It also made it easy to spot some cool animal footprints (turkeys were particularly interesting).

Thanks to everyone who participated! Hope you had fun.
