Write Up:
A total of 7 folks attended this casual Sunday afternoon event, including folks from a local group. Steve Badger, PVSP McKeldin Disc Golf Course Pro and caretaker taught us many ways to drive and putt discs at this beautifully maintained top-country course. There are about 2,100 disc golf courses today, about 30 years after the start of disc golf, and another 1,000 worldwide. Disc golf first started as Object Golf, in which you threw your disc towards a tree, mailbox, car, etc. Baskets later came to keep dings off of cars! It was a really fun day/event, and this Intro class goes on about once a month at the park and only costs $2 (plus $2/car to enter the park) -- a way inexpensive and educational way to spend your Sunday afternoon. Besides the car entry fee, there are NO greens fees -- a much less expensive sport over "ball golf." Fore!
