What a ghostly tour! The weather was unseasonably warm, but perfect for a near Halloween ghost tour. We had four or five newcomers that seemed excited for the evening's events. Fells Point was alive as we walked the streets of the lively town with our tour guide, Barbara! She kept things interesting as she pointed out haunted sites including numerous bars and taverns originally built in the 17th century.
We walked past the never-ending
Fells Point cemetery, which housed one large tombstone for William Fells, I, and his grandson William Fells, II, both of whom helped to found the town. Barbara told tales of hauntings reported by shop-keepers, bartenders, and ladies of the night. She told us one story of an apparition who screamed in the 'throws of passion
', which we found especially amusing.
Toward the end of the tour, one of the newbies, Matt, enjoyed a free shoe-shine from one of the locals. We heard screams from another woman out celebrating her impending nuptials.
After the tour, we grabbed a group picture with the tour guide, then a few people departed. The rest of the group began the bar-hopping portion of the evening's activities. A few went off to find food, while others sat down for a drink and a game of Erotic Photo Hunt. ;)
Later, after many-a-drinks, Joanne and Colin found a bar, where they proceeded to climb a top the bar to entertain the MOC patrons. The group continued to bar hop, but got progressively smaller until about 2 AM.
Frightfully scary times were had by all, in preparation for Halloween, just a few days away!
