Write Up:
Good food, good friends (old and new), a roaring fire pit, and a cheese ball - all essential elements to a great Signal Knob weekend. Campers gathered at the Elizabeth Furnace campgrounds on Friday night to enjoy a light dinner and large fire pit, before tucking into their tents to get ready for the following day's hike. Weather.com forecasted temperatures in the 40s, but campers with frozen noses tended to disagree with that estimate.

Fortunately, the promise of sunny skies came true for Saturday, as the group set out on the 10.4 mile Signal Knob hike. As the hikers straggled back to the campsite, they were greeted with chips, salsa, and a well-received ice cream run before settling down to watch the Signal Knob cooking show (coming to Food Network soon). The campfire was large enough to accommodate all foil packets, and everyone happily munched on their hobo stews.

Sunday was leisurely, as campers packed up their supplies, ate a hearty breakfast, and then headed out. A small contingent stopped at Pearmund Winery for a wine tasting on the way back to civilization.

Thanks to all that joined us for the weekend!
