Write Up:
This November day, it felt more like August. The temperature was in the 70's and it was sunny on the 'big rockpile.'

After gathering in the parking area, our group set out on the lengthy climb. Pretty soon we were spread out up and down the mountain.

With the nice weather bringing out many area hikers, some of the rockier climbing parts were backed up like lines at the amusement park. The hike took its toll. Rebecca and Aaron were lost to blisters. Kristen nearly knocked herself unconscious on a tree limb. But it was all worth it at the top as we were rewarded with good visibility and nice fall colors. From there it was a leisurely descent down the non-rocky side to the parking area.

Several of us then retired to a nearby eatery for frosty beverages, tasty food and lively conversation.

Once again, Old Rag refuses to disappoint as the premier hike in Northern Va. - Nuff said.
